Camouflaged in the Tree?

This morning it took Sarah about 10 minutes to find her little friend, and when she found her, the little pixie was hiding kinda high up in the tree, as if she was blending in with the other ornaments, kind of a camouflage mission, as if to say, I am on a top secret mission, and you cannot find me. Interestingly enough, she was hiding in with the red balls.

After Sarah found her friend, she said "silly Sparkles." So today, Sparkles is once again on her mission, and apparently her camouflage has been discovered, and now her day is starting to see if Sarah is naughty or nice so that she can report back to Santa all that she sees and hears. The question still remains, how did she get up so high in the tree and there wasn't even a ladder? Sarah has answered this question with, "she just floated up there, it's magic." This is definitely getting to be as fun for Becca and I as it is for Sarah. Let's see what the little pixie does tomorrow, will she be on a shelf, reading a book, or even playing a game?

STRONG and MIGHTY FORTRESS

So our little elf woke up this morning and went hunting for Sparkles for about ten minutes of hunting for the little pixie, Becca explained to Sarah that she thought she heard a noise in the kitchen but thought it was a dog.

After going into the kitchen area where Sparkles had apparently built a fort and saw what had been built, Sarah went HYSTERICAL! "I FOUND HER," Sarah cried out with a loud voice. And what she had found was that Sparkle had built a fort out of the canned food flats in our kitchen. Apparently the little pixie is missing her home in the North Pole, so she is trying to build one herself. How much do pixie forts go for now days in this economy? I am sure if I were to call Remax they would be able to tell me, or maybe it's not meant to be a home. Perhaps with the ending of the Mayan calendar and all the end times mumbo jumbo that entails, Sparkles could just be preparing for the worse case scenario. She at least has shelter and food, although her shelter is built entirely out of canned food products and flats, maybe she has the right idea.

Getting Caught in the Lights

So this morning Sarah caught Sparkles in the Christmas lights tangled up. I am guessing that she didn't thing the house was decorated enough for her Holiday time taste, and preferred more lights to hang up in the dining room area.

This morning Sarah woke up from her sleep, and when she saw the lights, she was amazed and in awe. "OOOWEE," Sarah exclaimed, as if she had never seen any kind of Christmas lights before in her life. "Daddy, when did you do that?" I told her that it wasn't like that when I went to sleep, and I think she needs to check it out a little closer. "SPARKLES! YOU'RE SO SPECIAL," she yelled. "Daddy did you see what Sparkles did?" We got such a kick out of that. Sparkles, where she means well is now tangled up in the lights. Let's see if she can get out tonight!

No such thing as too many friends...

So Sarah woke up this morning at 5 am, just to realize that the sock drawer was no longer in the middle of our living room floor, and that the socks had magically been placed inside the drawer, and the paper wads had disappeared, but where was Sparkles? Normally she returns about 2 am, which is a few hours before Sarah wakes up, and this morning it seemed as if she hadn't returned. or did she?

Sparkles did not return out in the open like she usually does, instead she ended up on our television stand, and it appeared that she had made some friends, and we think she also may have adopted one of the decorative reindeer as well (I'm not sure what was up with that). Sarah let me know that it was Frosty and Prancer she was making friends with and not her Barbie dolls, although a girls night out is just what Sparkles really needed one of her first few nights.

So far, Sparkles has surprised Sarah by just appearing from 'out of nowhere' on our television stand, hung out in the drapes, had a girls night out, scattered socks and paper wads everywhere, and now she has adopted some more friends. Is there nothing that this elf will not do? How is she going to surprise our daughter tonight? Will she appear in Sarah's bedroom, bathroom, even our room? Only time will tell what sort of antidotes the little pixie will pull, so stick around, the entertainment has just begun!

Sockin' it to Her!

SOCKIN' IT TO HER!

As many already know, Sarah can be quite the handful at times, and yesterday was no exception, so Sparkles thought that she would be a handful as well. Sparkles really socked it to Sarah when she arrived from reporting to the North Pole, even I couldn't believe what she had done during the night. She really socked it to Sarah.

We heard some commotion going on last night, and were certain that Sparkles had already returned home, and was just going about her elfin' business, as she had done in times before, but nothing (and I do mean NOTHING) could have prepared us for what she had gotten into while we all slept. When I say she socked it to Sarah, I mean that quite literally. The little pixie had pulled Sarah's sock drawer out of her chest of drawers, taken it into our living room, causing a trail of socks behind her, made several paper wads, threw them into the drawe, and made a huge mess. I am guessing she took the cue from Sarah in being mischievous. This apparently caught Sarah's attention, because today Sarah was exceptionally good in class according to Mrs. Robinson, her pre k teacher, so who knows, maybe tonight the little elf will be nice as well.

Girls Night Out?

GIRLS NIGHT OUT...

Last night, Sparkles did something a lot different than the times before. She made friends. I am guessing that being down here by herself has made her lonely. But it's ok, because apparently Barbie and Sam have given our little pixie some companionship, because she looks happier than ever. She has adopted some great fashion sense as well (as you can see she has changed clothes for the time being.

So Sarah wakes up this morning, and comes into our room to go to sleep, as she had gotten sick during the early morning hours, but she eventually got better, and went elf hunting by herself. "Sparkles is right here! She took my babies!" Sarah exclaimed. So we had to explain to her that Sparkles maybe getting lonely, and she needed some friends when she gets back from the North Pole, but if Sarah was to allow Sparkles to have two friends, that we were sure that she would tell Santa that Sarah was trying extra hard to be good by sharing friends. Of course, this helped ease Sarah's anger at Sparkles for just taking a friend or two, and we put the girls back where they go just for the day, but you can still bet that Sparkles is STILL watching, even though her Chatty Cathy friends are right by her side.

How did you get here?

HOW DID YOU GET HERE?

When we arrived home tonight, Sarah was very excited about finding Sparkles. She couldn't wait to get in, as she had been missing her little pixie friend. After getting inside the house, it took Sarah all of ten minutes to find her friend. Upon finding the little pixie in the drapes, Sarah proudly announces, "HOW DID YOU GET HERE?!?!?" It was so priceless.

After finding Sparkles, just hanging out and swinging in the drapes, Sarah asked that I read the Elf on the Shelf book to her. It was priceless, as Sarah is realizing that the magical Elf may leave at night while she is asleep, but that is alright because she will be back when Sarah awakes, but in a different place.

Although Sarah was at Ninny and Paw Paw's house last night, I am sure she found out through the grape vine if Sarah was naughty or nice, and I am certain that she will report it to the big man at the pole. So far, I am happy to report that Sarah is making extra efforts to be good, as she is aware that Sparkles is really watching.
